VHA/B/C emergency lane access

Dec 12, 2019 | News

This weeks unexpected decision by VicRoads to ban VHA/B/C commercial hire car vehicles from emergency lanes on the Eastern Freeway has been REVERSED by the Minister for Roads.

The decision to remove signage was made without consultation or prior notification to industry members. Rod spoke with Minister Pulford’s office this week and the decision has now been REVERSED with further discussions on the timelines for phasing out access to these lanes scheduled for early next year.

Minister Pulford’s office has advised that no VHA/B/C vehicle will be booked who may have driven on these lanes this week, and all signage is to be replaced. Access to these lanes is available to vehicles registered with VHA/B/C plates in peak periods only.
