Caution: This video highlights troubling corporate practices by Uber in the US. It’s vital to recognize that such behavior may extend to places like Australia.
The Transport Workers Union (TWU) strong advocacy at a state and federal level backs the Albenese Labor government’s Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Closing Loopholes) Bill 2023.Currently before the Australian Parliament.
While no bill is perfect, this bill aims to protect gig workers and will impact Uber’s unchecked unregulated expansion, this will hopefully have a positive change on all those in the commercial passenger vehicle industry including taxis, and the wider transport industries.
