Road Safety Amendment 2019 – taking licenses off dangerous drivers
I spoke on the Road Safety Amendment Bill 2019 which aims to toughen up on road safety by immediately suspending the license of people who travel 45km above the speed limit or above 145km in a 110km zone and for violent offences that involve the use of a motor vehicle.

Last month we wrote to Roads Minister Jaala Pulford asking that the successful motorcycles in bus lanes trial be extended to bus lanes on the Eastern Freeway. We are very pleased to hear that this trial will start today and will include sections of the Eastern Freeway and extend into Victoria Parade.

I ask the minister: will she make it compulsory for commercial passenger vehicle (CPV) licence holders to present a current roadworthy certificate and a certificate of commercial passenger vehicle insurance when registering for or renewing their commercial passenger vehicle licence?
