Submissions from a B-double truck driver and his wife to the Parliamentary Inquiry into Victoria’s increasing road toll have raised a number of interesting questions about existing requirements for truck drivers.
I spoke on the Road Safety Amendment Bill 2019 which aims to toughen up on road safety by immediately suspending the license of people who travel 45km above the speed limit or above 145km in a 110km zone and for violent offences that involve the use of a motor vehicle.
Last month we wrote to Roads Minister Jaala Pulford asking that the successful motorcycles in bus lanes trial be extended to bus lanes on the Eastern Freeway.
