Uber has made its first foray into Sydney Airport.

This move was not unexpected, following Uber’s commercial arrangement with Melbourne Airport, where they are paying to remove their competitors from the front of the terminal. In NSW, at this stage, it has only impacted hire cars and limousines; they have been moved from their long-standing position to a less convenient place.

The harm is, Sydney Airport have reduced parking for them to only five spots. For an industry that has hundreds of vehicles and plays a crucial role in NSW tourism, business, and the wider transport sector, this is concerning.

At this stage, I say to my colleagues and friends in the NSW taxi industry, beware the Trojan Horse!
