‘No point’ in new Victorian taxi laws if regulator not ‘enforcing the rules

Spoke with Simon Love on Sky yesterday regarding the failings of Safe Transport Victoria, the regulator. It’s no secret; my view is that their time has come. Save millions of dollars; let VicRoads handle licensing and registration, while VicRoads and VicPol manage enforcement. MPTP should be rolled in with NDIS this will happen at some stage. Transport should focus on policy (which they already do). Seems like the obvious solution to me!
