The Andrews/Labor Government are spearheading a number of significant development projects throughout Victoria. While I agree that many of these projects are needed, everywhere I go I am receiving the same message. The community has been left out.
Communities want to be involved in these projects, they do bring skills and they can contribute to better outcomes.
The government must build public trust by being more transparent, providing independent oversight and consultation.
Time and time again we see that the community consultation that is taking place is more of a marketing and education process than a two-way conversation aimed at achieving the best outcome.
“Communities deserve better consultation and to have their needs considered.”
