Increase to Unbooked Taxi Fares

Aug 26, 2023 | News

Extremely pleased to see that the Essential Services Commission (ESC) has determined an increase to unbooked taxi fares! This follows on from the 11.2 increase last year after extensive advocacy from us and moving amendments in the Legislative Council to a bill that required the ESC to consider the cost of operating a taxi cab and to consider the Fairwork Commission determination on national minimum wage. This has addressed the ridiculous scenario when taxi fares only had one increase in 13 years previously, Proud to say we changed the way taxi fares are determined and when!

“Unbooked’ taxi fares to increase 4.1 per cent from 1 October 2023 following annual adjustment for fuel and labour costs”
