The taxi industry is at the coal face when it comes to arrivals into Australia and the risks associated with close social contact during this Covid-19 crisis. This week Rod has written to the Premier and asked in Parliament for support for drivers who are ill or must self isolate. With no sick pay and no holiday pay these are the hard workers who are getting Victorian’s home safely and they and their families deserve our support.

In February I asked Minister Jennings to support the Mullum Mullum Gathering Space in Ringwood, and we are pleased to hear they have secured a license to stay in their property until the end of the year and are in the process of developing a feasibility study to explore the options of staying in their current location or moving to new premises.
If we allow this consortium ownership of the airport rail link it will control every access point into Melbourne Airport – road, rail and air – and could set prices as it likes. Is this in the best interests of the travelling public? I’ve asked the Minister for Transport Infrastructure to keep ownership of this rail in public hands.
