Bendigo community rallies for night shelter for homeless

Jul 23, 2019 | News

Last night we visited the Bendigo Winter Night Shelter to experience the great service they offer the homeless in Bendigo – Rod is pictured with director BWNS Lachlan Weir and deputy director Terry Westaway.

This group works with local churches, community groups, council, local businesses and a huge number of volunteers to provides safe and warm accommodation, meals and dignity to its guests. The project runs only during the Winter months to get people sleeping rough off the streets and connect them with services and groups that can help.

The homelessness need solutions – like this – not excuses.

Bravo Bendigo!
